Utah State University Professor Tom Peterson has been issued a misdemeanor citation of lewdness. Peterson teaches in the Interior Design department.

USU Police Captain Steve Milne says police were called to the HPER building Tuesday night on a report of lewdness in the steam room. Milne says witnesses identified Peterson by name, but couldn’t identify the other man involved.

Capt. Milne says it was established that this was criminal activity occurring between two consenting adult males. USU Public Relations Executive Director John DeVilbiss says the University believes in due process and won’t take any action until the case has been through court.

Capt. Milne says Peterson was issued the citation and released; he will be in court next week. Police are still trying to identify the other man involved.
