Seven years after it opened just in time for the 2002 Winter Olympics, the George S. Eccles Ice Arena is growing and improving. That was the report Executive Director Floyd Naegle presented to the Cache County Council this week.

Naegle said more than 30,000 kids have participated in the school outreach program and at least 20,000 spectators come out to watch the USU Club Hockey league each year.

Adult leagues have grown and Naegle says the Center is doing everything it can to increase revenues, including sharpening skates.

Council member Bryan Chambers said he feels the ice area is in the best financial shape it's ever been.
